Acclaimed for her extraordinary stage presence, passion and elegance in phrasing, strong technique and beauty in her voice, Lucrezia Drei is now one of the most appreciated young Italian sopranos. After winning prizes in many international competitions, she performed in the most important
theatres across Italy and the world. She was chosen by Maestro Alberto Zedda for the main role in “Il viaggio a Reims” in ROF Academy 2017, and she won twice the Aslico Competition, which started her career as coloratura lyric soprano.
She recently received the audience and critical acclaim for the role of Adina in “L’elisir d’amore”, which she played in many reprises in NNT Tokyo, Opéra de Toulon, Teatro Regio di Torino and Teatro Massimo di Palermo.
Her main role debut came with Susanna in “Le Nozze di Figaro” in 2015, which lead to many other Mozart’s roles, such as Blonde in “Die Entführung aus dem Serail” at the Savonlinna Opera Festival,
Zerlina in “Don Giovanni” at La Fenice di Venezia, Fiordiligi in “Così fan tutte” at the Festival de Cartagena, Pamina in “Die Zauberflöte” at Teatro Verdi di Trieste. In 2018 she sang again Gilda in “Rigoletto”, one of her most beloved Verdi’s roles, in a new production of OperaLombardia.
Very appreciated in Rossini’s roles as well, she brought her Corinna from Pesaro to Teatro Filarmonico di Verona, to Theater Kiel, Germany in 2020.
She played the role of Nannetta in the last Joan Pons’ “Falstaff” at the Opera de Máo, Oscar in “Un ballo in maschera” at Opera di Roma, Norina in “Don Pasquale”
in Milan Verdi Hall and Teatro Regio di Torino. In 2019 she was chosen as Musetta in a new production of “La Bohème” staged by Leo Nucci, which lead her to a big
triumph and opened the road to new Puccini’s roles. Between the new roles of 2019, she was also Marguerite in “Faust” in Seoul, South Korea.
Miss Drei was born in Milan. She approached to theatre very young, at the age of nine, being part of the Children Choir of La Scala. Soon she became one of
the soloists of the theatre and debuts her first role at thirteen in Bob Carsen’s production of Janaček’s “The cunning little vixen”, which was followed by many
others such as Yniold in “Pelleas et Mélisande” conducted by Georges Prêtre. In the years she spent in La Scala, she had the chance to learn from the greatest
musicians of the world, like Riccardo Muti, Lorin Maazel, Zubin Metha. Before entering Milan’s Conservatory as a singer, she degreed in Flute, Acting and
graduated in Language and Foreign Literatures at the University of Milan.
She was invited in many Italian TV programs and performed with tenor Andrea Bocelli at the live concert “Bocelli & Zanetti Night” conducted by Zubin Metha.
